Project Description
The N4 Castlebaldwin to Collooney Scheme in County Sligo involves the upgrade of 14.8km of National Road, comprising of 13.8km of Type 2 Dual Carriageway and 0.9km of Standard Single Carriageway tie in. The scheme includes four overbridges, six road underbridges, two clear span river bridges, 39 culverts and associated diversion, two at-grade roundabouts and one grade separated junction. It involves 3.3M m3 of earthworks, of which 500,000 m3 is peat excavation, and works in a karst environment.
Services Provided
Clandillon Civil Consulting acted as Designers in a Joint Venture with Fehily Timoney Ltd on behalf of Roadbridge, who were appointed by Sligo County Council. As the Project Managers for the scheme, CCC were responsible for overseeing the production of all design deliverables associated with highways including drainage, structures, geotechnical and environmental elements. CCC were directly responsible for the highways and geometry design. As Designer’s Site Representative, CCC are currently carrying out site supervision during the construction of the works.
